Ice Storm
I took up the Wayne winter hiking challenge...
The winter months can seem to take a year. I was reminded of this once again when seeing the memes circulating the last couple days of January. People sharing the exhaustion that comes from spending far too long without sun or the freedom to stand outside barefoot soaking in heat, humidity, and the glorious rays of light. I had considered this with dread early on and once again this year I’m choosing to walk the city parks rain, snow, ice, or shine. It relieves the drudgery of winter blues, and reminds me, much like the gallery below, that life never forsakes the world even in cold.

I once dreamed of living several months in the after effects of an ice storm. The simple beauty of the world incased in ice reminds me that creativity is never up to me, but is an ongoing natural phenomena. Capturing pieces of it in photo is the best I can do to keep that reminder alive inside me.
